The Class of 2011 enjoyed their 10-years reunion on Saturday 24 July 2021 at Dominic College. It was their first reunion and despite the absence of interstate old scholars due to the lockdowns and quarantines, the group was large and enthusiastic.
Principal Beth Gilligan said they were an impressive group of fine young adults – now in their mid-twenties.
"Many have commenced very successful careers in areas such as Social Work, Engineering, Science, Marketing, Nursing, Education, IT, Administration and Business Management. They are buying houses, planning weddings and enjoying happy relationships.
"Four of the returning Old scholars I had taught in my Year 10 Religious Education Class that year: Brad Tibballs, Fez Kidane, Jayde Bailey and Liam Binning. There is nothing more rewarding for a teacher than to see one’s former students be successful and achieve their dreams. Even more thrilling to see two of them, Jayde and Liam take up teaching."
Each year the College facilitates the hosting of "ten-years" celebrations and we look forward to the reunion sof the Year 10 groups from 2001, 1991, 1981 and 1971 during the rest of the year.
As usual the group enjoyed refreshments and some photos and memories in the Basil Fox Room, then undertook a tour of the College visiting some new areas built since their graduation as well as seeing the renovated and updated classrooms they remembered - but with warmer, cosier and technologically equipped facilities.
