The girls from the Holy Name Class of 1970 celebrated their reunion in the White House at Dominic College on Saturday 9 October 2021, with DOSA wine and champagne and a lot of laughs.
Beth Harvey from Holy Name and some friends had planned a reunion at Dominic College back 18 months ago in October 2020 but the COVID pandemic interfered with their plans and the date kept being shuffled backwards. Beth, together with Leanne Plummer did a great job of staying in touch and eventually settled on holding their 50th anniversary reunion on the occasion of their 51st!
Many of their friends were still unable to come, but we did enjoy the company of Claire Delaney and Annette Malazian from Western Australia. Although there were some co-ed matriculation classes with the boys of Savio College from 1967, most of these girls did not experience co-education. The majority were, nevertheless, very happy with their schooldays and we spent a lovely afternoon sharing photos and stories. The local old girls agreed to meet regularly for lunch.
They are still an energetic bunch, though slowing down now and admitted that in ten years time we may have to shift the venue to one without stairs to climb!
