The Class of 1981 enjoyed their 40-years reunion on Saturday 2 October 2021, upstairs in The White House, Dominic College. It had been ten years since their last reunion, so the school had physically changed in its many new buildings and facilities improvements in just that short time.
The old scholars enjoyed a lively afternoon of chatting, reminiscing and plenty of old photos to share and the mobile phones were hot with snaps.
The attendance was good despite the absence of many interstate old scholars who would have liked to attend, but the COVID issues with travel are, for the moment, an ongoing part of life.
Thank you to organisers from this year, Maxine Downey-Smith (nee Gore), Michele Guy (Cleary) and Jenny Jeffries (Howard). Thank you also to Ms Beth Gilligan for her welcome and extensive tour of the College and to Mr Tony Webb who assisted during the afternoon.
There were an excellent range of students from all areas of the school, including Paul McShane who was a boarder in both the middle school dormitories and with the seniors in the White House.
If you couldn't make it you can stay in touch with the Class of 1981 by joining the Facebook group: "Dominic College Grade 10 1981" https://www.facebook.com/groups/10150132786420375 or email oldscholars@dominic.tas.edu.au to make sure you get on the mailing list for future magazines and information.
