The Year 7-10 assembly was held today (31 August) but in period 7, rather than the usual period 5, to allow Andrew Palmer's Dance Baby Dance program to continue in the Savio Centre for the Early Years students.
There were some interesting reviews, including a sample question replay of the Maths Relay, where our students explained the answers to some rather challenging maths questions. Mr Mackie showed some movies highlighting the highlights of Adventure Rec this year, and Mr Golding presented badges to a large group of students who had represented Tasmania in their sports, including soccer, karate, waterpolo and badminton.
Looking forward to the next ten days, students were promised entertainment and enrichment with Dominic College hosting 45 Samoan students, who will dance, sing and share with our students on Monday, and the community at our Breakfast and Show on Tuesday morning. Breakfast and show is $10 and you must book at https://trybooking.com/LQFL.
Soon after the Samoans leave we will focus on our creative side, and enjoy the artwork, music, drama, dance and media of the biennial Dominic College Creative Arts Festival. The Long Gallery student exhibitions are free and open tot he public. The drama performances of 'Stories From Suburban Road' are free but tickets must be reserved. See www.dominic.tas.edu.au/creativeartsfestival for details.
