ANZAC Day last year was the 100th Anniversary of the ANZAC Landings at Gallipoli. To commemorate and honour this significant historical occasion we asked all students to get involved in their community as way of recognising and honouring the sacrifices of our forebears.
Over 150 Dominic College students participated in numerous parades and services. This was a fantastic experience for our students to have the chance to be directly involved in such a significant community event. As the years move on, it is important that as Australians we never forget the sacrifice that our soldiers, sailors, airmen and volunteers gave towards the future of our country. As a young vibrant section of the community we have an obligation to provide a link between generations and ensure this sacred day in the Australian calendar is always honoured appropriately.
In collaboration with the RSLs (Returned Services League) around Tasmania we have arranged opportunities for our students to be involved at the following memorial events:
Glenorchy – Parade and Wreath Laying
Main parade 10.30am (assemble Glenorchy RSL at 10.15am)

This will be an amazing opportunity for students to be involved in something greater then
themselves and we ask for your support as we come together as communities to pay tribute
and remember our servicemen and women who sacrificed for the freedoms we now enjoy –
Lest we Forget.
