Our 7-10 assembly was a rewarding occasion, as a range of students were congratulated on their determination, spirit, contributions and successes from Term 3.
Director of Creative Arts, Mr Mike O'Brien, reflected on the hundreds of students and families who were involved in the successful Creative Arts Festival in Hobart's creative hub at Salamanca. Students who performed in Stories From Suburban Road, who performed in the Rock Band and at the Soiree, and exhibited and attended the professional masterclasses were recognised and congratulated today.
The Year 8 Rock band reprised their stunning festival debut performance in the Peacock Theatre and hit the spot with a great harmonising ballad.
7-10 Sports Coordinator, Miss Nicole Millikan, congratulated students who attended the representative athletics carnivals. A number of students achieved outstanding results, including Bradley Young's first place in the discus, and students were also particularly recognised for the assistance they provided on the day, including competing in multiple events to fulfil the College's responsibilities and the whole-hearted support of the team.
College Principal, Ms Beth Gilligan, commended students for their grit and said how pleased and proud she was with the individual achievements of a number of students. Ms Gilligan and Mr Davey presented Diamond Awards to 23 students who had achieved 5/5 on their expectations in every one of their subjects studied. These outstanding students were cheered by their peers.
