The College is in a constant cycle of review of our work, systems and processes. Under review has been both our Canteen Service and our Uniform Service to students and families.
We appreciate the need to be able to support families in the provision of good healthy lunch options for students and an on-site Uniform Shop. We are committed to continue to do this K-10. In our reviews and with consultation with our P&F, we have decided to centralise the College Canteen into the current 7-10 canteen.
Parents will be able to undertake on-line ordering of lunches for their children and these will be delivered to students. The K-6 Canteen will be brought to closure this year. Details about on-line ordering will be forthcoming and I want to assure parents that we anticipate this will be an improved service based on feedback from other school communities. 7-10 students will still be able to access the canteen at recess and lunch but K-6 students will not.
This supports our commitment to ensure that our K-6 students are formed in healthy eating choices. We anticipate that the canteen changes will happen this term. As we develop the Creative Arts hub underneath the College library, we will be decanting the current Uniform Shop and relocating it to the space where the K-6 canteen is located. We will be expanding that space between the K-6 canteen and administration building to develop a new Uniform Shop. This will become operational in Term 4.
Parents will receive notification and details in the future
regarding these changes.
