Following the special K-2 carols presented to parents at Dominic College there have been several more opportunities for the community to enjoy carols from our lovely choirs.
Glenorchy Carols by Candlelight – A Not So Silent Night
On Saturday evening 12 December, nearly 50 Dominic students from Years 3–10 sang their hearts out on the stage at Glenorchy Carols by Candlelight.
Year 3-6 students, combined with several other schools to open the carols event, singing Aussie Jingle Bells and Deck the Rooftops.
Students performed with the Glenorchy City Brass band and looked amazing on stage, wrapped in tinsel and Christmas cheer.
The Senior Choir performed beautifully and filled Tolosa Park with their harmonies, by singing Your Grace Still Amazes Me and Mary’s Boy Child.
ABC radio performance
On Monday morning 14 December, the Senior Choir were invited into the ABC studios, where they dropped off some presents under the Giving Tree, before performing live on the radio. Promise Mudzingwa and Chelsea Jones were both interviewed, speaking very well and the choir sang, giving everyone in the studio goosebumps. If you would like to hear the segment from the radio, it can be found on the ABC Hobart website and here: Dominic choir students at the ABC.
On behalf of everyone in the Creative Arts Faculty, we wish all our students, families and friends a safe, happy and holy Christmas.
