This week we have marked Catholic Education Week by continuing to work with our students, families and parish to help children and young people develop and learn to integrate their gifts of body, mind and spirit in a caring community, based on Gospel values.
We celebrated Mass with Fr Lawrie Moate SDB and our Glenorchy parishioners on Sunday, and Mrs McMahon writes about this on page 4 of our newsletter.
Our students enjoyed the various appointments in our historic Little Theatre, with old scholar, Michael Webb (above left), for class, individual and family photos, where students put their best profile forward and their “2018” look captured forever.
This week, students participated in activities of fund-raising for Project Compassion - College Vice-Captain, Ashely Cano Calderon, writes about Taco Tuesday on page 5 - and students across the school enjoyed celebrations of Harmony Day.
We celebrated with our treasured staff member, Mrs Rosemary Street, who received an award for 25 years service to Catholic Education. Rosemary’s long history with our College is highlighted on page 8 of our newsletter.
Our K-6 parents had a great opportunity to learn about literacy skills and how they can help improve the literacy of their children. Mrs Cunningham writes about this Literacy evening on page 6 of our newsletter.
Catholic Education Week is every week at Dominic College!
