College Community Fair - Outstanding P&F Volunteers
The Dominic College Community Fair was held last Friday and I would like to thank all parents, staff, students and old scholars for their contributions to this very successful event.
Despite the intermittent rain, it was a highly successful event, with the community rallying and sticking with the Fair and its attractions. Although some stalls were down on their takings, other stalls were up in spite of the inclement weather.
I would like to particularly acknowledge the wonderful work of our Parents and Friends. Their tireless commitment and work for the Community Fair has been amazing.
The leadership and generous service of the P&F Fair Committee for the last 12 months has been outstanding. This group comprised our President Nicola Rayner, Anne Lacy, Kirsty Schulze Christine Smith, Pam Cosker, Amanda Page, Sharon Majchrzak, Sharon Cleland, Jess Quinn, Hayley Stoddard, Danielle Quinn, Lyn Young, Annette Roberts and Amberley Harrex.
The Fair would not have happened without this wonderful team to whom we are indebted.
Highlights of the Fair certainly included the abundant Chocolate Wheel, the Cake Stall and the array of food stalls with the
Rotary Club of Glenorchy being a marvelous partner with their signature sausage sizzle.
Mr Cameron Golding’s VET Hospitality Class produced some amazing taster plates in Mamma Margaret’s Kitchen which wowed patrons.
Fr Damien Sladen’s Plant Stall proved very popular. Special individual student stalls this year included Ella James’ Scrunchie Stall and Priyanika Kumrai’s Greeting Card Stall.
Commendations to so many for their initiatives to make this evening such a memorable event. Year 4 teacher, Therese McDevitt once again had the final stall operating to the very end! ‘Lob a Choc’ has become a fair tradition now and much loved by all.
