Fr Elio's memorial Mass

Many past and current members of the Dominic College and St John's Parish community gathered on Tuesday evening 2 March for a memorial Mass for Fr Elio Proietto SDB, who passed away last week in Melbourne.

Fr Elio had a long and valued relationship with Boys' Town, Savio College, Dominic College and St John's Parish in a variety of roles, and he returned to Glenorchy with joy when his assignments here eventuated.

A large number of his Salesian confreres, many old scholars, teachers, parents and parishioners joined in prayer and Mass. Year 10 student Alicia Paice brought forth an Essendon scarf, and Fr Nicholas Castelyn's beautiful homily and tribute to Fr Elio was an outstanding piece of oratory.

After Mass the parishioners and old scholars delighted in sharing stories and memories of a wonderful Salesian.
