House Debating starts soon

Students responded positively to the Tasmanian Debating Union’s Southern Schools’ competition and performed with credit. We will now hold a Year 7 and 8 House-based competition this term.

Team’s of four students will debate topics relating to College life, social issues, and popular culture. The competition is open to all Year 7 and 8 students and workshops will be held next week for students who may be new to debating.

The competition was launched in last week’s Year 7-10 assembly with an exhibition debate. The topic was “That Superman is better than Batman”, and the audience vote clearly went in favour of Batman!

If you or your child has been thinking about debating, this is a great opportunity to get involved and see what it’s all about!
