The last time Les Schultz was at Dominic College was over 60 years ago and it was still called Boys' Town.
Les is probably the oldest old scholar we know - he was first admitted in 1946, before even Fr John Brennan and the Salesians arrived to take over from the Archdiocese in running the orphanage.
Fr Brennan decided that Les was too young for the new school at Boys' Town, so organised for him to go to an orphanage in Melbourne, until he was old enough to return in 1949
Les, now 77 years old visited from Queensland with his wife, Helen, who has family in Hobart. They were delighted to see some of our old photos, and to be given a tour of th oldest parts of the school. Les was flabbergasted at the changes and very pleased Dominic College is preserving the history and heritage of his time here.
Les says he will be back and hopes to meet some of our students then.
