DOSA Football had two close and well-fought wins over OHA in the Old Scholars Football on Saturday 13 August.
In the seniors game Patrick Carroll, Class of 1999, and current parent celebrated his 150th game for DOSA, and Scott Beattie, Class of 2001, celebrated his 200th game.
The seniors game was played in tough conditions, with strong, blustery winds throughout the game, and a downpour in the third quarter. DOSA began well but failed to capitalise fully on the strong wind at their back. OHA bounced back, supported by the gale, to be just 5 points down at half time.
OHA edged ahead in the third quarter, when DOSA's turn with the wind was wrecked by a downpour which had the spectators fleeing to the stands. However DOSA rallied and Cam Golding's kicked goals and hard to handle at full forward throughout the second half.
The game was in the balance at three quarter time, with DOSA 25 points up. DOSA stayed ahead throughout the last quarter, working very hard to keep control of the ball, but OHA squeezed four of the last five goals to close to nine points.
Final scores:
Reserves - DOSA 16 14 110 OHA 12 11 83
Seniors - DOSA 17 15 117 OHA 16 12 108
