Old scholars excel in stage productions

The annual Tasmanian Theatre Awards, known as the Errols after Tasmanian Hollywood star, Errol Flynn, were awarded last weekend. Congratulations to all the winners especially old scholar Andrew Casey (1989) for his Best Supporting Performance (Male) for The Effect (Loud Mouth Theatre Company); and to old scholar Ryan Ennis (2013) for the Community Theatre Judges’ Award: Emerging Scriptwriter for Watching (produced by Fawkes Theatre Company).

Andrew is Director at React Drama and is familiar to many students at Dominic College as he has spoken at Men’s Day breakfast, made guest appearances as a celebrity judge at our Theatre Sports as well as run special drama intensives for our Creative Arts students.

He regularly performs in Hobart professional theatre, humorous reviews and pantomime.

Ryan Ennis is studying at University of Tasmania Launceston and is acting and directing in many community theatre performances.

Ryan is an accomplished writer also, having his first book, Legacy, published by Amazon while he was at school, and Ryan publishes his plays for sale on the Australian scriptwriters website.

Congratulations to both these creative and hard-working old scholars.
