Congratulations to all our Prep-Year 6 students who successfully completed the 2020 Premiers Reading Challenge of 10 books in 10 weeks!
Sophie Ransley (Year 6) was a lucky winner in one of the weekly prize draws. Sophie’s prize was a Hawthorn Football Club reading cushion which was presented to Sophie by Hawka, the Hawthorn mascot, and David Cox the State Manager of the Hawthorn Football Club. Hawka also presented Ms Scanlon’s Year 1 class with a special prize for being the class that returned the most completed Reading Challenges. Well done 1B!
Hawka and David also spent time visiting our Kindergarten to Year 6 classes to engage in some football banter, read a short story and talk about general health and well-being. Sport and reading create a great mix – supporting positive literary values with sporting role models provide children with confidence and inspires a love of reading.
Thank you to the Hawthorn Football Club and the Tasmanian Premiers Reading Challenge for the great event that was thoroughly enjoyed by all of our students!
