Earlier this year on Wednesday 11 April, we hosted renowned parent educator and psychologist Steve Biddulph for the first time. On that night, Steve gave his world famous talk on raising boys. It was an enlightening, moving and emotional night and everyone who attended walked away smiling, a little wiser and with a new perspective on boys, including how they grow and develop and the importance of key relationships in their lives.
Many left inquiring about whether Steve would be able to return to cover girls.
On Thursday night this week, Dominic College was proud to host Steve again as he returned to us and delivered his world famous talk on raising girls.
Over 300 parents and friends of the Dominic College community packed out the Savio Centre and were enthralled as Steve enlightened and moved us again with his humour, honesty and insight.
Steve covered with us the five stages of girlhood, how to help our daughters become wise, warm and strong, the unique roles we play in their lives and how to develop inner security.
As the father of three young daughters myself, I found his presentation fascinating and I know that this feeling was widely shared by those in attendance. I highly recommend Steve’s book on Raising Girls to any parent interested in learning more on this subject.
Overall this was a wonderful community event and we are blessed that Steve was able to join us and share his knowledge with our community.
I would like to thank Aaron Davey for his initiative in bringing Steve Biddulph to our community and for all of his hard work behind the scenes.
