It is with sadness that I write to inform you that Mrs Jenny Edwards, one of our K-6 Teacher Assistants, passed away very suddenly Thursday morning. Jenny collapsed at a bus stop in Claremont and despite efforts by bystanders, the police and ambulance officers, could not be revived. This is a great shock to Jenny’s family and all in our community. Jenny had faithfully served in our College community K-10 since the beginning of 2002. She was dedicated to our students and nothing gave her more pleasure than to see our students happy and learning. Always positive, enthusiastic and supportive, Jenny had worked hard all of her life to ensure her own daughters Di and Christine, and son Richard, now grown, had many opportunities that she did not have as a youngster. As you inform your children, please assure them that Jenny was a woman of faith and is without doubt now with our God. We extend our condolences to Jenny’s family that they find comfort during these hard days of shock, disbelief and loss. The family are unsure of funeral arrangements, especially at this time of year. The Mercury will provide details in due course. May Jenny’s family feel God’s strong and loving presence and know that our thoughts and prayers are focused on them. Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord. Beth Gilligan, Principal Dominic College |
