On last Friday and Saturday, our Year 9 and 10 students, together with our Director of Science K-10 Ms Jane Myers, and Physical Science teacher, Mr Brad Parkin participated in the state’s Festival of Bright Ideas at Princes’ Wharf.
This was a wonderful initiative and great experience for our students as they interacted with school students and families about their projects and our animals over two intense days.
We are grateful to the many Dominic families who dropped in and visited our stalls. This was a great support and encouragement to our students.
Student participation in the Festival of Bright Ideas launched National Science Week for us. Our K-6 students have enjoyed wonderful opportunities and rotational activities this week to engage with our Animal Husbandry program thanks to the great work of Ms Myers and her Year 9 and 10 students.
As part of Science Week, our Year 5 and 6 students accessed Physical Science activities as well as Animal Husbandry.
These opportunities were overseen by Mr Brad Parkin, who like Ms Myers is an innovative and highly effective hands on teacher with his students.
Students have thoroughly enjoyed their Science sessions this week and are developing ongoing interest in and curiosity about scientific matters, issues and problem-solving.
