Women's Day breakfast celebrations

This morning a record crowd of over 180 celebrated International Women's Day at the Dominic College Savio Centre, including current mothers, carers and daughters, old scholars, special community guests and College supporters. A splendid and healthy breakfast was enjoyed, and we listened to a variety of contributors, including College Captain Holly Van Lierop and her mother, Michelle. The highlight of the morning was our special guest speaker, Dominic College old scholar, lawyer and successful businesswomen, Katrina Gregg (Class of 1993, nee Harrison). Katrina spoke of what she wanted to do when she was at school, and how that changed in her life as she grew and matured. Things just don't "happen" - you make them happen. Over $1200 was raised for our sister Salesian school in Samoa to go towards scholarships for girls who may not otherwise have the chance of a significant education.
