Dominic College is proud and excited to introduce a new Immersion Learning Opportunity for 2017.
World Challenge is the ‘Trip of a Lifetime’ and in 2017 the opportunity to travel to Cambodia for three weeks is available to all Year 9 and 10 students at the conclusion of this year (December).
World Challenge believe that life skills, such as resilience, empathy and leadership, are developed through real life experience and they enable young people to develop these key skills through powerful student-led expeditions to the developing world.
Students will travel to Cambodia, undertake community service and give back to underprivileged people, they will undertake a trek and see parts of Cambodia many people will never see, as well as spend time relaxing and soaking up the Cambodian culture.
I have spoken to families whose students have attended these trips and the parents have stated that the experience has been life-changing. Unfortunately, at times, our young people can be self-centred; they can feel hard done by and sometimes do not know how lucky they are. This is a real opportunity for Perspective and to see what privileged and blessed lives we have.
