First Nations Focus
This term, our Year 7-10 First Nations students embarked on an enriching journey during their recent visit to St Virgil’s College. Beyond exploration, this excursion became a platform for cultivating cultural knowledge and fostering connections.

Relic of Don Bosco Visit
As part of our celebration of 100 years of the arrival of Salesians in Australia this year at the College, we will next week host the visit of a ‘Relic of Don Bosco’ that has been touring Salesian schools and parishes over the past few weeks.

Celebrating the Arts at Dominic
This week we saw the start of a series of showcases to celebrate the wonderful work Dominic College students are engaging with in the Creative and Performing Arts areas starting with our Senior Drama Production ‘Bottom’s Dream’ directed by one of our Drama teachers, Dr Marty Crerar. It was amazing to see our Year 9 and 10 Drama students, along with participants from the co-curricular Drama Club showcase their talents to audiences this week.

Class of 2013 Reunion
On Saturday 5 August a great turn-out of students from Year 10 2013 celebrated their first 10-years reunion. They enjoyed refreshments and photos in the White House and loved their tour around the school, especially the old classrooms, courts and playground.

Da Vinci Decathlon Report
In Term 1, sixteen Year 8 students participated in the 2023 Year 7/8 Da Vinci Decathlon.
Throughout the day, students were engaged in ten challenges on ten different topics. It was great to see the students working as cohesive teams as they tackled the different challenges. And challenge is indeed the right word. One of the College’s teams won the English Award!

Dominic Animal Husbandry at Bushy Park Show
The Animal Husbandry Show Team have attended their first show at the Bushy Park Show where they showed either sheep or miniature ponies. All students and animals did a fantastic job, making the school very proud and coming away with some prizes. Bella Davis won the Champion Handler Class and Bella Rime achieved Reserve Champion.

eSafety - A Home and School Responsibility
The staff at Dominic College take eSafety very seriously and part of our role as a school is to teach and inform our children, staff, families, and the wider community about the risks of electronic media, whilst also acknowledging the many benefits that the internet can offer to help student learning and wellbeing.

Dominic College 50 Year Anniversary Celebration
This year we mark the celebration of 50 years as Dominic College. The Dominican Sisters and the Salesians of Don Bosco merged their Glenorchy schools in 1973 and we are all fortunate to be here as current students, staff and community members in 2023 embracing the traditions of these two wonderful charisms
