Music and Dance Showcase Returns
The Music and Dance Showcase provides Dominic students with the opportunity to present some larger-scale Performing Arts offerings to the school community. As with the Creative Arts Festival, the aim of the Showcase is to show the work that students are undertaking as part of their course work in Music and Dance, as well as in the co-curricular life of the College.

Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee Finalists
Fifty Dominic College students in Years 3 – 6 recently competed in both the Local and then State rounds of the Prime Ministers’ Spelling Bee. All our students recorded terrific scores with high levels of accuracy. We are proud of all these students.

AGFEST 2021
AGFEST was a wonderful and rich learning experience for all involved. Twelve students attended the event, the bus and truck were loaded and left on Tuesday 4 May, and arrived at AGFEST at 1.00 pm to unload our sheep in preparation for the show to begin. It was an amazing atmosphere arriving amongst thousands of other people, animals and machinery all ready to bring this event to life.

Active Engagement in Music K-4
Active Engagement is an important part of teaching and learning at our College. In K-6 Music, our specialist teachers – Mrs Katherine Denholm, Mr Martin Smith, and Ms Kylie DeCalmer – are constantly working to ensure high levels of teacher and student engagement across all Music classes.

Project Compassion
Project Compassion is the major annual fundraising appeal of the Catholic Church. It is organised by Caritas Australia and runs each year throughout Lent.
Every student, the staff members, and the families of Dominic College participated in activities throughout Lent at the College and gave generous amounts of time, money and spirit to this important appeal.

Relay for Life 2021 - A fundraising record for Dominic!
Congratulations to our 2021 Relay for Life Team Last weekend, Dominic College fielded a large team of Year 5-10 students and staff for the Cancer Council’s Relay for Life. Students were committed and enthusiastic in their contribution to the 2021 relay. Many dedicated students actively fundraised over several few months. The team have so far raised an extraordinary $48,048.00 for the Cancer Council.

Marine Camp
A group of twenty-seven Year 10 students went to the Woodbridge Marine Centre recently to spend a week learning about the Marine life living in the D’entrecasteaux Channel. This is part of the Animal Husbandry and Marine Studies elective.

Dominic College IWD breakfast 2021
The annual Dominic College International Women's Day breakfast was held on Wednesday 10 March 2021 in the Savio Centre. Over 240 students and adults enjoyed breakfast, prayers, music and reflections from our guests. Over 10 years, the breakfast has become an important community event where we celebrate and discuss ways we can help our students, especially our girls and young women, grow and contribute to their world. We also raise important funds for our sister school in Samoa for scholarships for young girls to attend a Salesian school.

URStrong – Our Friendship Focus
The URStrong program is a cornerstone of the Kinder – Year 6 EMPOWER program and focuses on children teaching others how to treat them. Friendships mean the world to our students and we use the URStrong program as it supports children to establish and maintain healthy relationships, manage conflict with kindness and increase their overall resilience.

A Masterclass in Introduction to VET Hospitality
We have a very enthusiastic group of students who have enrolled for the Introduction to Hospitality VET course this year under the guidance of Dominic Applied Studies Teacher, Mr Cameron Golding.
Recently they had the wonderful opportunity of a masterclass with a Queensland based Chef, Lauren Kinne from Elska Restaurant in Brisbane.
