The recent death of Sr Maura McAvoy OP

​Sadly Dominican sister and former staff member of Dominic College, Sr Maura McAvoy OP passed away in Auburn NSW on Monday 6 July after some weeks of ill health. Sr Maura had extensive leadership experience and generously served the Dominic College community from 1991-1993 as Principal of the then Dominic College Senior School.

Launch into Learning is back!

Dominic College's Launch into Learning (LIL) program is back! We are so excited to welcome back all our families and resume this wonderful program. This free early learning program for 0-4 year olds and their parents or carers provides opportunities for children to learn while they play in a classroom environment.

A Blessing in Disguise

Over the past few weeks our Year 6 instrumental/band students have been spending time in the Fra Angelico DAW (digital audio workspace), recording small ensemble pieces. Here they learn the language of a recording studio with the help of Band tutor Mark Schmalfuss.

Subject Selection for Years 7- 9 for 2021

Students and families in Years 7-9 will begin the process of choosing electives for 2021 this term. Due to COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines regarding large gatherings, our elective selection process will be moved entirely online this year. From 16-26 June, our SEQTA Engage and SEQTA Learn welcome pages will be formatted to provide students and families with pertinent information for making elective choices.

PRINCIPAL'S UPDATE - 24 MAY 2020

Greetings to all of you as we prepare for our K-10 students to return to the College. Firstly I want to extend my gratitude to all families for your outstanding support during this difficult time when we had the majority of our students (85- 90%) remaining at home in the last seven – eight weeks. I am also grateful to those families of essential workers who worked constantly in collaboration with us to ensure that their children, being supervised at school, were focused and motivated.

Remote Learning in Japanese Lessons

Japanese learning has been powering ahead for students from K-10 so far this term. In our attempt to try to overcome some of the hurdles of remote teaching and learning, Aran sensei and Kumashiro sensei have been trying to make the most of the new opportunities that have been presented through the accessibility of online tools.
